Jury Finds Bay City Man Guilty of Manslaughter — Not Murder — in Baytown Shooting

Jai’Mari K. Campbell, 21, faces up to 15 years in prison after jurors rejected an open murder charge in the death of Toryon Patterson at Baytown Family Neighborhood. A jury has found Jai’Mari K. Campbell did not act with premeditation or malice when he fatally shot Toryon Patterson. While exonerated of murder, Jai’Mari K. Campbell is still likely to face prison time on a manslaughter conviction.Jurors in Campbell’s trial delivered their verdict shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, finding him guilty of voluntary manslaughter.
